Sentera 6X Multispectral Sensor

Six Spectral Bands. Field-Level Crop Intelligence.

The Sentera 6X captures six discrete spectral bands — including Red Edge and Near-Infrared — enabling NDVI, NDRE, and advanced vegetation index mapping that standard RGB drone cameras simply cannot produce. Paired with Harris Aerial's heavy-lift Carrier drones, the 6X covers hundreds of acres per mission with calibrated, agronomically actionable data.

More Bands. More Agronomic Intelligence.

Single-band NDVI cameras tell you something is stressed. The Sentera 6X tells you what, where, and how severely. By capturing Blue (475nm), Green (560nm), Red (668nm), Red Edge (717nm), Near-Infrared (840nm), and full-color RGB in a single synchronized pass, the 6X provides the spectral depth required for advanced crop health analytics, nitrogen status estimation, disease onset detection, and precision variable rate application planning.

Every 6X includes a downwelling light sensor (DLS) that continuously measures ambient solar irradiance throughout the flight. This enables accurate radiometric calibration across variable lighting conditions — ensuring that vegetation indices calculated at 7am match those from high-noon flights and are comparable season over season.

Mounted on a Harris Aerial Carrier drone, the 6X Multispectral covers large field areas efficiently, delivering consistent, calibrated data that agronomists and precision agriculture professionals can act on immediately.

Compatible with Harris Aerial Carrier Drones

The Sentera 6X Multispectral integrates seamlessly with Harris Aerial's heavy-lift Carrier platforms, giving agricultural operators the flight endurance and payload capacity for large-scale field coverage in a single mission.

From Field Scouting to Precision Application

🌿

Crop Health Monitoring

Detect plant stress, disease pressure, pest damage, and nutrient deficiency weeks earlier than visual scouting. NDRE captures stress invisible to NDVI.

💧

Irrigation Management

Identify irrigation uniformity issues, detect dry zones before yield loss occurs, and support variable-rate irrigation scheduling with field-wide NIR data.

🌎

Variable Rate Application

Generate prescription maps for fertilizer, pesticide, and micronutrient applications based on real multispectral field data rather than uniform assumptions.

📊

Yield Prediction & Analytics

Track canopy development, biomass accumulation, and in-season vigor trends that correlate with yield outcomes and inform harvest planning decisions.

🌟

Cover Crop Evaluation

Assess cover crop establishment, species uniformity, and stand density across large fields to verify agronomic programs and document outcomes.

🔎

Research & Agronomy

Support agronomic research trials, university field studies, and crop consulting programs with calibrated, repeatable multispectral data over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Additional spectral bands enable a broader range of vegetation indices beyond basic NDVI. The inclusion of Red Edge (717nm) in particular allows calculation of NDRE, which is significantly more sensitive to chlorophyll content and nitrogen stress than NDVI alone — especially in high-biomass crops where NDVI tends to saturate. The sixth RGB channel also allows standard color imagery to be collected simultaneously for human visual interpretation alongside the quantitative data.
The downwelling light sensor (DLS) measures the ambient solar irradiance reaching the sensor throughout each flight. This allows the multispectral data to be radiometrically calibrated — correcting for changes in sun angle, cloud cover, and atmospheric haze. Without radiometric calibration, vegetation index values can shift based on time of day or weather conditions rather than actual crop changes. The 6X's DLS makes your data comparable across flights, seasons, and years.
The 6X supports a wide range of vegetation indices including NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index), NDRE (Normalized Difference Red Edge), GNDVI (Green NDVI), OSAVI (Optimized Soil Adjusted Vegetation Index), CIre (Chlorophyll Index Red Edge), and more. The specific indices available depend on your post-processing software and analytics platform.
Sentera's FieldAgent platform is the recommended cloud-based processing solution, offering automated mosaicking, index map generation, and agronomic reporting directly from 6X flight data. The TIFF output is also compatible with Pix4Dfields, Agisoft Metashape, QGIS, and other GIS and agronomic analytics platforms.
Coverage per mission depends on the Harris Aerial Carrier drone platform, flight altitude, and overlap settings. Harris Aerial's extended-endurance Carrier platforms — particularly the H6 Hybrid and H6 Hydrone — provide the flight time to cover hundreds of acres per mission at typical agriculture mapping altitudes.
