Additional spectral bands enable a broader range of vegetation indices beyond basic NDVI. The inclusion of Red Edge (715nm) enables NDRE, which is significantly more sensitive to chlorophyll content and nitrogen stress than NDVI alone — especially in high-biomass crops where NDVI tends to saturate.
